I have been thinking about 'getting into' Applique for sometime and had the idea of trying out a new skill on Isobel's plain bedroom curtains - creating characters or scenes for her to use her imagination with as she grows. I treated myself to this new book last week and lo behold it included some ideas for bedroom curtains.
Initially I was looking for retro material on both Ebay and Etsy, but I could only find very girly/chinzy prints if you know what I mean. In the end went for these. Russian dolls and Owls seem to be the in thing from Japan:
I think they are gorgeous. Here's hoping I get round to it before too long.
