I can't think who would have put Tinkerbell on charge! Probably the same person who when talking to her Granny yesterday flopped into the arm chair lounge style - feet hanging over the arm, head rested on opposite arm - and continued chatting away. It is amusing, but also scary - the desire to be grown-up (I'm the same as you Mummy....) is very strong and I hope it will slow down one day.

Double Take
As I walked towards the kitchen yesterday I spotted something out of the corner of my eye which made me stop and double take:

Fairy Visit
It has been a scorcher of a day today and this afternoon a fairy came to visit and told me she was 'fluttering':

Last couple of weeks
It has been a busy couple of weeks work wise, but hopefully things are getting back to normal. Meanwhile the last couple of weeks have included:
Sunrise whilst waiting for my train into work:
Isobel is getting confident and starting to do 'tricks' on her scooter:
Isobel helped purchase, and plant these Narcissus and then watched them grow:
She has also decided knitting is for her and she is going to knit BOTH Mummy and Daddy a cardigan. Any knitting projects need to be put well out of arms reach at the moment:

Milestone
I wanted to keep a record of the date so have decided to note here that Isobel made the transition from cot to bed this last week. We also had a week of visitors - firstly James (who was bossed around and seemed to take it quite happily) and then Nain and Taid which was very exciting! I thought with all these goings on, she would be regularly popping out of bed and making an appearance downstairs, but no. I am pretty amazed and touch wood it will stay that way!

2nd Birthday
I am sitting here, reflecting on the past weekend which has just taken place. We started Isobel's birthday celebrations on Friday and it feels as if we haven't stopped (nor has she!). Friday was a joint party with Isla for their friends at a local soft play area - and it was fantastic. The children went berserk climbing, running, sliding - the mums were out of breath!
After 90 mins of running about the birthday girls had a lunch upstairs, sitting on thrones.....with lots of balloons.
Cake (number one....)
Friday afternoon (after Isobel helped to make cake number two....) Nain and Taid arrived. Wyn and Julie visited too so Isobel was well into party mode again! The next morning she came downstairs and squealed with delight as she saw a scooter and little kitchen adorned with balloons.
And the new kitchen was a huge hit:
She insisted on putting her new dress from Granny over her PJs:
After the park (scooter technique pretty good for first go), we had a tea party in the afternoon. More excitement and for me the best compliment was when she said ladybird as she saw her cake (colouring was a bit dodgy....)
We finished off her birthday with fireworks and sparklers - perhaps something which will become an annual event. She loved it and so sweet the way she sang Happy Birthday. The last year has whizzed by, but in that time she has changed and developed enormously. And, most of the time - utterly adorable!

Sunny Afternoon
After the grey and miserable days we have been having, last Friday hit the 20s - yay! Granny was with us and we spent the afternoon lapping up the sun.
And then for the rest of the afternoon, Isobel insisted running around half naked - but please note made full use of the potty facilities on deck......

Leisurely Saturday
Richard is away for a week - seeing the Norwegian Ffords (humph!) so Isobel and I have, in the end, spent a quiet day at home apart from a walk up the road - and back with pram and dolly (which I decided in the end wasn't such a good idea. Dolly frequently got propelled into neighbours front path ways and the pram nearly collided with several parked cars). So we came home and had quite a long session with the playdough - as soon as it starts hitting the mouth it's time to pack it away:
There were a few tear incidents
but they didn't last long - Miss Cheeky was back:
Can you see me:
We had a Teddy Bear's picnic - as you can see they all seem rather full:
Isobel did her daily bit of foraging in the strawberry plant -
prolific, but no fruit has a chance to ripen:
Despite a day at home, Isobel was very tired and has gone off to sleep very peacefully. Leaving me to enjoy my roast lamb for one aka Nigella (slow cooking is just the thing when dinner is all ready and waiting post bed time routine). And to enjoy watching Coco Before Chanel - bliss!
